Guest Lecture with Radio 1’s Jason Carter & Claire Thomas
Jason Carter, BBC Radio 1’s head of live music and Clare Thomas, Executive Producer of BBC Introducing, came to the University of Lincoln to talk about how they use events such as Radio 1’s Big Weekend to attract younger listeners to Radio 1.
Jason Carter also spoke about the Radio 1 Hackney Weekend and why they are organising this event. Clare Thomas talked about BBC Introducing and explained how much of a great opportunity it is for talented musicians.
Aside from showing us all some detailed, thorough and seemingly effective ways to increase audiences, there was a lot of advice about getting into the industry, which was really exciting.
